WHAT IS HADAL? / FICTIONAL CONCEPT

A web experience turning a deep-sea mission into a digital museum.

The visitor joins a research crew and descends through the ocean’s deepest layers. They follow sonar signals, discover unknown life and add every finding to a living archive. Every screen below supports this one simple journey.

01 / DIVEGo deeper.

As you scroll, light fades while pressure and data increase.

02 / FINDFollow the signal.

Sonar and bioluminescence lead to an unknown organism.

03 / ARCHIVESave the find.

The organism enters the digital museum with location and environmental data.

01 / INTERACTION CONCEPT

The dive
is the
interface.

HADAL is a digital archive that moves through layers of depth, not pages. As the user descends, light disappears, data intensifies and the ocean begins to speak another language.

Making the
unknown visible.

Photography, taxonomy and environmental data converge in a single discovery screen.

Not an archive.
A living mission.

HADAL’s second layer brings the crew, route and sensor stream into one operations screen. The viewer does not only see results—they feel the discovery happening now.

PROJECT NOTES

Not a website.
A controlled descent.

HADAL is a fictional research platform that turns the ocean's deepest region into an explorable digital archive. Its visual logic is derived from depth, pressure, signal and bioluminescence. The interface does more than explain—it creates the physical sensation of descent.
