The Tokyo 1964 cover system brings the Olympic flame, Japan’s red sun, the running track and Mount Fuji into one vertical story. The result respects the period while behaving like a contemporary collectible.

Front, spine and back tell one story.
Three surfaces carry different moments of one route: the torch rises on the front, the red spine directs the eye and the track opens toward the horizon on the back.

When the same physical object is split into close views, the system between symbol, typography and spatial line becomes clearer.

Vertical energy.
The flame and rings become one ascending sign through the economical language of Japanese poster design.
